Dear members and supporters,
Whatever happened to California Forever? Should we be worried?
Our speaker will be Elizabeth Patterson. Elizabeth was the Mayor of the City of Benicia serving from 2007-2020 and city council from 2003-2007 ; she served as Chair of the General Plan update and appointed to the Planning Commission. She has been a Planning Director for two Bay Area towns and worked as a CEQA expert for the state. Elizabeth applies land use and water management to state projects. She worked at the State of California at the State Lands Commission from 1990 to 1996 and was the project lead for a legislative program that led to the creation of the Delta Protection Commission. She was staff lead on land use planning and management for Delta Blue Ribbon Task Force – the Delta Reform Act and DWR California Water Plan from 2000 to 2020. She is Vice-Chair of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Rivers Delta National Heritage Area Advisory Committee. Elizabeth has also taught land use planning and water management at Sonoma State University.We will also be voting on endorsements for the Solano County Board of Supervisors. These races impact everyone in Solano County so even though most of us can’t vote for them we can still support them. We will be voting on both endorsements and contributions to their campaigns. Supervisor Wanda William, District 3, will speak and answer questions. We are waiting to see if Mike Silva, the candidate for District 4 will have a presentation.
There will also be a discussion about the proposed amendments to the bylaws.
