Our Vision
“We are Benicia citizens who believe progressive principles are grounded in liberal ideals, such as rule by the governed for mutual benefit, equality in law, legal rights and privileges, and equality of opportunity for all, and that these principles can lead to pragmatic solutions for the needs and concerns of all our communities.” – From our Mission Statement
The mission of the Progressive Democrats of Benicia is to encourage and promote progressive views on ideas, programs, and actions in our community that ensure equity and justice for all people. Further, our mission is to support the election and appointment of public officials who work to secure, maintain, and protect these rights and opportunities for all individuals in our communities.
We are Benicia citizens who believe progressive principles are grounded in liberal ideals, such as rule by the governed for mutual benefit, equality in law, legal rights and privileges, and equality of opportunity for all, and that these principles can lead to pragmatic solutions for the needs and concerns of all our communities.

Our Story
Back in November of 2016, a group of Benicians were motivated by the presidential election to become more politically active in our community. While several new groups were formed, the Progressive Democrats of Benicia (PDB) is the only local group that focuses its principal efforts on electoral politics, working to actively support progressive candidates for appointed and elected offices locally and statewide.
The PDB is formally affiliated with the Democratic party as a chartered club of the Solano County Democratic Central Committee (SolanoDemocrats.com and Facebook.com/SolanoDems). We incorporated our bylaws in May of 2017 and have been holding committee and membership meetings since on a regular basis.
We welcome all Democrats and the general public to attend our monthly meetings – more info in PDB Calendar (top right). You will find a diverse group of volunteers, advocating for democracy and dedicated to equity and justice for all. Join us!
How to get involved….
Meetings have been on 2nd Tuesdays of most months at 7:00 p.m. Exact dates and location or ZOOM link to be announced. For more, see our PDB Calendar (top right), or our BECOME A MEMBER or PAY DUES / DONATE page.
